I thought it was so a teammate can kill you when you want to return the intel and you have to break some blocks to be able to get to the tent.
After they teamkilled you they can return the intel instead.

Its happened to me. I hate the random dicks that do crap like that. I once had 2hp left, managed to escape the enemy territory, and get to the base with just the 2hp. Then i saw that a random noob had built a tower underneath it, and my "teammate" team killed me while I was spading the tower down.

Nah, they were waiting with a semi. They couldnt even claim accidental killing. I could have kicked them, but I didnt have the patience, so I left. It pissed me off though.
