Flamethrower?

Is that a good idea to replace the shotgun to a flamethrower?

by changing the tracer to a flame, changing the sound to a flamethrower.

This post is kinda an Request/Discussion

What if they are small plastic casings with combustible content that explode on contact? That would be a good SMG-Flamethrower.

The spread is pretty tight so its not like a liquid stream flamethrower would be weird looking/unrealistic, real ones actually have pretty good range to boot.

Now imagine if we had block types i.e. stone, woods, earths the flamethrower would be awesome against wood :P , too bad we only have coloured blocks though.

Well then, that would just be an SMG firing incendiary projectiles.
