There needs to be some way to contest votekicks.

You think yours was bad?

Try Aloha Last Team Standing, playing for 15 minutes with 5 kills
and getting banned by a respectable admin for Aimbot (not going to say any names cause that will start a flame war)

EDIT: Not to mention that I'm still fighting this out to this very second

See those people getting headshots, or bodyshots with ease and look like a pro? Chances are they are aimbotters.

Or they're actually just good.

You can tell who's an aimbotter because they often walk around, charging into enemy spawns without any stealth and spam up the kill feed. Three or four kills in quick succession is plausible. Nine or ten is a bit far-fetched, and the whole enemy team repeatedly is definitely a sign they're aimbotting.

The only way you'll deal with it in the game's current state (and without strict anti-cheat measures) is to have an admin actually playing the server. If each server has at least one admin either playing or monitoring it while it's up, they'll be quickly caught and removed. It's these servers that don't get monitored that quickly get full of aimbots. That's why I miss Sham's Little Pony (though I'm not a My Little Pony fan), there was always at least one admin playing, and the mood of the server was relaxed and fun.

Sham actually has 2 servers now, the second one host the Arena gamemode just scroll down the server list and you'll see 'em.

I remember that last time when playing aloha hallway, there was a player (that I'm not going to tell the name of to avoid flame wars) who frequently spammed the killfeed with headshots - we all in the team agreed he is an aimbotter, BUT, we tried like 5 times to votekick him, but of course - nobody really cared to votekick.

And he was trying to prove he was not aimbotting - he knew we knew (sounds bad, doesn't it?).
Then he stopped aimbotting, at least I thought he did - killfeed wasn't spammed anymore and his "skill" level generally went down, harshly.

It's good he stopped, but bad we couldn't kick him for good.

I was just on aloha CTF yesterday and some guy named "[ABT] Hacker" (I'm not too concerned about name and shame here considering they were basically announcing they were aimbotting) started walking into our spawn and was one-shot headshotting people with the SMG like you wouldn't believe. I tried votekicking him but, oh wait, VOTEKICK DOESN'T EVEN WORK. Every time I tried, the votekick would say the kick was started, but it would never say that the votekick was in progress or that it had ended and I had to start again. Not that it mattered anyway. When I did start the votekick, no one voted. In fact, I think I only got one person to ever vote, even though it was hilariously obvious that he was cheating.

I think the problem with this system is the players (although it would help if votekick worked properly). There are cheaters in every game, and there are usually also tools that allow the regular players to remove them. The kids who play this game are all too eager to vote for "SAY /Y FOR AIRSTRIKE", but when an actually legitimate votekick rolls around, NO ONE VOTES. This is something I've tried and have failed to understand but it's true regardless of whether it makes sense or not.

Haven't you all heard of players using the aimbot, running around and aiming for slow kills? Some people aren't that stupid to rush a base and aimbot the hell out of everything and get banned. Yes, there is an aimbot that doesn't do one shot kills on the body and just aims for the head. That how I say that people may look pro, but they might just be using aimbot.

What's the point of using a aimbot if you're aiming for "slow kills"? You could've gotten far more kills if you played normally and not having to be on the lookout for anyone suspecting you.

I completely agree. People seem more eager to vote when it is for a completely pointless votekick, but when it is for a legitimate reason, barely anybody will vote. Maybe it needs to be more evident when a votekick is happening, or just require fewer votes.

And then get kicked as quick as you killed them all. Or end up continuing to shoot them up because the players are just stupid to vote you out. You can't get them butthurt if they blatantly kick you out for aimbotting, that is the point, kill them over and over slowly till their frustration takes them downlane into stupidity. Some things take time man, it's like secks, do it quick and you won't enjoy it, do it slow and you will enjoy it.

Suspected aimbotter? Spectator mode lets you spy on people, and you can tell if they're legit or not based on how fast their gun jumps between targets.

i try to cycle through as many aloha servers as i can to moderate all as evenly as possible for aimbotters but usually i don't see any of this type of action but when i do i bring down the mighty hammer of justice.

also as an aloha guard the best i can do is /togglekill and i can't acutally ban aimbotters for anything :P
players should also try their best to look out for things such as multiple bullets and not just an entire killfeed with one name. it helps out the admins and guards a lot.

votekicks don't appear to work on certain servers because A: the majority of the cheater's team will not vote because it is helping them B: about 14% of the players do not understand english C: a percentage of players do not care at all what is going on. unless all the players work together to get rid of cheaters like Enari said, votekicks will always fail and never work. best case scenario is to have badmins and admins moderating the servers as much as possible.

Easy solution. /ratio doesn't tell you a lot. /accuracy tells you that they're purposely missing once in a while to decrease their accuracy. Spectator is in 3rd person, so its hard to tell whether they're using a high sensitivity or twitching between opponents with an aimbot. Also, when a hacker sees someone go to the spectator team, they're obviously going to play bad on purpose to deflect attention. There should be a /headshot to see their headshot percentage.

admins/guards have a command called /hackinfo which basically tells you how many headshot snaps they have, what their ratio is, and what their accuracy is. since most aimbots with a little bit of intelligence aren't going to go out and start spamming the aimbot button and anally rape the other team without missing a single shot or getting killed, it is hard to determine if they are aimbotting just using /ratio and /accuracy alone. in my opinion, the best way of being able to tell is to go in spectator mode and watch the headsnaps and accuracy of the player. it's something anyone can do and is very easy for someone to identify whether a person is hacking or not which is the reason why i only leisurely use /hackinfo and don't rely on it.

/hackinfo is the basic step you want to take before carefully watching somebody. But as I said, anyone who has the brain cells to aimbot cautiously is smart enough to play bad when they see "*Admin* switched to Spectator Team." The only ways we can avoid this are if the chatbox is strategically (and manually) spammed to block out the line that shows someone going to spectator, or if spectators were invisible, and cannot be seen when pressing tab to look at teams. At this point in the game, there's literally no way to tell the difference between a smart/cautious aimbotter and a good player.

EDIT: and 1st person spectator
