Holy butts I was browsing Bodhi Linux few weeks ago, it had this horrible green theme and after my previous E17 experience I decided not to go with it. Now this is a game changer!
My usage of E17 is not what you would call typical...
Since my netbook is very small I don't like the idea of splitting my windows and such, so I run everything fullscreen - no boarders, no shelves. Turned almost everything the duck off to make it really minimal - only tray and battery icon remain.
Not sure that I would recommend Bodhi, on my netbook it had a couple of things that made it really annoying to set up (very anecdotal, one of them was getting drivers for my wifi card and another was a difficulty with the hardware switches, both are specific to the S10 Lenovo series). But in general - for me at least - it is extremely fast, works great (hiccups aside) and looks beautiful (though only because I made it so, I don't like the default themes).
You should try it out though, not sure how much it truly differs from other distros (it is afterall a cut-down Ubuntu), but I have fun :D
