AOS PHONEHOME?

AOS PHONEHOME?

Whenever i start AOS the client.exe tries beside connecting to the gameserver to connect to the ip adress 107.22.175.45:80

What is this?
Some tracking shit?

I blocked it in my firewall and would like to know if someone can tell me and the other players what the purpose of this is...

If you did a small amount of research, youd find that this IP belongs to amazon web solutions. Its probably where the master server is hosted or something.

yes amazon... great
u can use these servers for everything

it can be tracking also

and as a client player that connects to a single gameserver i dont need ANY connection to the "masterserver" or whatever

i only need a connection to the gameserver i play on
(that the game runs perfectly with this connection blocked prooves this!)

also either in the readme it explains what this is
nor ingame it asks me if i do wish that

thats really bad

Can't really think of a reason why a connection to aws.amazon would be necessary, but as you say it is probably just statistics and tracking data.

Connection to masterserver doesn't seem necessary either. The gameserver will already send it's info the the MS...
