Seems like I was lucky for only chosing rifle my first 5 days of game haha

Your sensitivity should be determined by your mouses DPI so its different for everyone

I set mine to 10, I usually play on very high sensitivity, and here's another tip :

Don't sprint where it's dangerous, it's common to die while sprinting, and the transition time from sprinting to shooting is too long, thus, there is a very large chance to die, only sprint if you know it's safe, or if you have to dash behind cover.

Exactly. I use rifle a ton and I went from "Aero killed Dude1 (Rifle)" 99% of the time to "[DELTA]Aero killed Dude1 (Headshot)" 99% of the time.

If you plan on using the shotgun, Remember to play like a Pyro.
Stay off of the main battlefield and ambush in tunnels and tight spaces.
Also, Crouch with the SMG and burst-fire.
As for the rifle, Never stay in the same spot when someone starts shooting towards you. Change spots every few shots.

Flank, flank and flank. Use tunnels as frequently as possible and I recommend using trenches instead of walls.
Also, play less on square, flat maps(pinpoint, Hallway, Goon Assault, etc) and play on more varied maps like Gen and Normandie. I recommend playing on Gen Wars.

We are here because the Universe offers conditions so life can evolve,to the point where(at least one)species,in a small planet around a star lost between millions of galaxies,is able to ask itself:What was my origin? (M. Gleiser)

Hyperbolic maps like Pinpoint and Goon Assault are the best learning grounds because you learn to not be stupid. Anytime you get killed on Goonhaven, it's because you were stupid (the only exception being when you are jackhammered in the beginning of the game or spaded by an enemy tunneler).

Playing on varied maps, you get killed randomly and it's generally hard to avoid unless you just tunnel for the whole game (which is mind-numbingly boring).

-dig 2 block deep trenches before you build a fort. Theyre bullet resistant and mostly grenade proof too. Just keep your head down, and make quick shots over it

-if you use the smg make sure to crouch and use the iron sights. Firing from the hip with out aiming only works in cqc. Long distance shots will not work unless you kneel and aim.

-check your map frequently. You can see your team. You can see where they die and plan accordingly. The maps are usually pretty big, so the map helps with flanking and planning hot or cold routes.

Thanks for all the tips guys, your comments are all really helpful. I think its awesome that everyone is being so helpful. I've been using most of everyone's tips (except for the mouse thing mine was already set to 7 because I play a lot of TF2) and its improved my KD amazingly. I think before I posted this I had somewhere around a .98 average KD now I'm simmering somewhere around 1.68 if I don't muck it up and use anything other than the SMG (so far I can't really kill with anything else, but I'm good at burst firing and hitting my target) and all of the engineering tips (I really love building, I was a fan of minecraft before starting AoS) are improving my fortifications. I'm fond of building trenches WW2 style, interconnecting with tunnels. If I team up with a few buddies usually we can hold a front line by using trench warfare.

I was wondering if this was a good idea since I started using trench warfare over standard running and gunning, I use 3 x 3 fox holes (open top trench for those who don't know) with one block to step up on to shoot from. Then There are two block high crouch tunnels interconnecting as many foxholes needed (Plus if you have a block above you and you're crouching its hard to be detected). It only takes like 5 minutes with 4 people (that would be me and my friends), but I was wondering if there was a faster way to do this. Sometimes one of us gets caught digging the tunnel to the main Foxhole (where ever the most enemies head towards) and dies, leaving a fox hole unconnected and thus useless. Any tips on doing the above faster?

right click with the shovel will remove up to to blocks. the block you aim at and the blocks below/above it. Use this to dig 2 deep trenches fast.

You can dig one block into the floor, and place a grenade there, exploding a 3x3 hole in the ground, and using what MrHank said, right-click to dig vertically much quicker.
