I don't want to play .21. It sucked so badly.
DON'T REVERT BACKWARDS! KEEP MOVING FORWARDS!

Adapt and learn to use/counter the new semi or die. This game is so much more than 1337snipr headshotz, try the smg and shotgun. Theyre specialized weapons for specialized situations.
You do realize the only reason he nerfed the rifle was from the recent influx of young/inexperienced players who were used to casual games and incapable of using effective cover, listening for enemy footsteps, learning how to properly infiltrate enemy lines, and being able to shoot somebody without aim-assist CONSTANTLY complaining about getting head-shot'ed?
You are a funny man. Perhaps you are not familiar with the concept of 'I am watching this position because I am camping, and the second you leave it, whether at walking or running speed, I will put a bullet through your head 100% of the time'. It''s not only about not finding effective cover, it's about the withering hail of bullets as well as being 100% accurate regardless of standing, crouching, or moving and at a rapid firing rate, no less, with 10 bullets off the bat, and fifty more in reserve ensuring you are completely and entirely fucked against a rifleman who is aiming at you.
Ben isn't coddling newbies, he remedied one of the greatest problems of the rifle, and that is the flexibility to act in any situation. SMGs are now weaker at range because of the damage falloff, which barely affects rifles, rifles are encouraged to camp or draw their shots instead of spam shooting while dodging/strafing, and shotguns are encouraged to stop using the shotgun because it still sucks. Stop being so hurt about your 'favorite toy' being 'nerfed'. I'd argue it's stronger in many ways, especially with the return of 100% accuracy.
Benton wrote:Now come on, Ben and the developers have to play to the market. If they don't this game will be like Linux. Very awesome, but for the average CoD player way too hard.
The problem people don't see is not the weapons, but they way people use them. Watch a guy play CoD and use the sniper rifle, he uses it like a freaking assault rifle. I have never seen a CoD player use stealth.
You need to pick a weapon that suits your task. If you are flanking them and sniping them, the rifle is the way to go, I would NEVER use the shotgun for that except if I am escorting the sniper. Likewise, I would never use the rifle if I plan to do trench warfare.
But in a map where I might have to do everything, the SMG is still the best gun. I don't like using it though, because it makes me feel like I am cheating for some reason.

My point is that there will still be "n00bs" buying the game.Benton wrote:This sounds good in theory, but I just think fragmenting the game is not the way to go. From a programmers point of view, it means three times the code.
Not really. It's really the same amount of code. Just ship 1.0 with the two other versions in different folders and then, when the client connects to the server, the server tells the client which version (set of files) to load. Honestly, it wouldn't be that hard.
I'd rather see some kind of list on the play page or something, where you can individually select which update you want to play.TheOperator wrote:Sorry, but I never had the problems with getting killed that you are describing, and ive been playing since before .2

So, why is that bad...?
What about bullet penetration? Like, Rifle bullets have a random chance of passing through the enemy, with a 50% damage loss, without the damage fall-off. This way someone could kill an enemy with a headshot and seriously injure another one behind.
ChaosTLW wrote:What do you mean with "do feeds"?
I sincerely see no need to have 8 bullets. It is quite rare to find any pocket with more than 2 enemies, and if you need more than 5 bullets to kill them, then you shouldn't really be using the Rifle =P
