For all things AoS!

If you can't fork over 10 dollars for a game that's so endeared to you, you obviously don't value it enough. I know I sure won't be forking over 10 dollars for the absolute embarrassment AoS has turned into.

If you are deriving utility from something that someone else has created, it is not a waste of money. The fact that you belittle Ben's work so much is really kind of offensive. I hate what the guy has done with his game but I still acknowledge it would be hard work. If it's so easy to do, why don't you just reverse engineer the game and play it for free offline, kid? Oh right, because you don't want to work that hard for something that Ben is pricing as cheaply as 10 dollars.

That is an absolute contradiction, what you just said. First you say you won't be paying ten dollars for the game because it's an embarrassment, then you say that I don't want to pay it for as cheaply as ten dollars. Which is, basically implying you will buy it since it is, in your opinion, cheap.

First off, there are different definitions of cheap. There are people less fortunate as you are. Secondly, I don't think you look tough by calling me a "kid" and a ten year old. If I were as little as you are describing, I couldn't make literate and valid arguments such as this statement. Thirdly, I don't understand why you're so angry. I'm someone you don't know, probably on the other side of the nation, so why should you be this concerned on why I won't buy the game? Let me think what I want, and I'll let you think what you want. But, obviously, you don't want to let this go.

Also, I never meant anything I said out of disrespect. Don't try to twist my words into something they aren't. I respect Ben's work, I'm sure it involved a lot of it. But I was simply saying he enjoyed making the game, which possibly made the work less as hard as it would've been if he didn't enjoy it. I never flat out said it was crappy or anything like that. I pointed out some improvements I thought might be helpful. Do you really think I mean anyone harm here? My statements and opinions are not insults to you unless you take them that way.

Where have I expressed my endearment to the game? As far as I know, no one but myself knows how I value the game. I believe you are imagining a fake enemy here.

I don't know why you seem to want to force me to pay ten dollars for this game. Why do you find so much interest in how I spend my money that I earned myself?

Here's the difference; I hate playing AoS (I'm exaggerating, but read on). It's a laborious affair to have to deal with all the Brazilian aimbots and Polish griefers. Ever since Goonhaven shut down, it's only been getting worse.

That clearly doesn't bother you. You still enjoy the game. If the game became paid, I couldn't be bothered to pay for it. I have access to the money and means of payment if I needed it. I just couldn't be bothered to pay for a game that has only served to disappoint me and get worse since I began playing.

Airsoftr wrote:First off, there are different definitions of cheap. There are people less fortunate as you are.

I don't dispute that. The fact of the matter is, though, if you spend even 6 hours playing a video game, 10 dollars is cheaper than a lot of other entertainment you'd ever be able to find.

Airsoftr wrote:Secondly, I don't think you look tough by calling me a "kid" and a ten year old. If I were as little as you are describing, I couldn't make literate and valid arguments such as this statement.

I dispute the validity of your argument; I find it very revealing that you didn't counter with "I'm actually 16", my hypothesis being because you are probably 12.

That was bad timing. I had been arguing with someone over another topic they didn't understand, and you got caught in the fallout.

I didn't see any suggestions. I only saw you saying that he doesn't work on AoS as much as you'd think, and that he should be enjoying it. That came off as self-entitled. If that wasn't your intention, then yes, I overreacted. If it was, I stand behind my original statement.

If you didn't like the game, you wouldn't care that it was becoming paid because you'd find another game.

Ill be terribly so sad when this will be pay to play. But if there will be 2 versions of the game, a free and a pay-able one will make me happy, so AoS will still gain reputations from free players and might add the AoS army. So that is free-to-play and on the other side is the Pay-to-play where you will buy the game (of course you will buy it) to repay Ben's work. So there might be some special thingies on the pay-able while the free one does not, but i wish rpg and mmg will stay on both free and pay2play, it's just so sad when I can't play this game anymore and because im an in-active player (because of school) i might come back on some vacation on some holidays :D

Tai, Airsoftr, can we stop the "I have a bigger vocabulary" fight? He has an opinion, and you have an opinion. There was no reason to start an arguement out of anger, and continuing it just to be the person who is right. Play the game to your aspect and everyone will respect you, picking a fight brings less respect for both of you.

Edit: Bringing a fight to yourself is another long story... *drinks coffee* I doubt anyone wants to hear about my healing words anyway :D.
