I enjoyed how simple it was, but now that we have plans to charge $10 (or more/less) you have to think about adding new features and bug fixes, etc. in order to make the buyer feel like their money's worth.
Incredibly true, the thing that got me hooked on the game was the simple "click and go" gameplay, the objective was simple, getting there was obvious, it wasn't to repetitive, and it was very addictive. Would I have paid money for it then? no, it was fun but it wasn't anything amazing, it had potential. And that potential is what made me stay with the game for nearly a year now.

Not a big fan of the new weapons, but it's pretty cool stuff like that is being added to the game. However, who wouldn't appreciate launching a few grenades at the enemy bases and harassing them? One can say it makes Ace of Spades feel more complete. I think if new features such as the MG, RPG, helicopters are being released on a scheduled development cycle, my $10 is more than worth it. Of course, this game looks nothing like commercial value at the moment. You don't even know what's coming out.
Point. People that has played the game's earlier versions, may not feel the game is with its money at the moment. The game is still evolving, when we played .2' .3's we saw POTENTIAL, we knew the game wouldn't stay the same forever. And yet I think the nostalgia of the old versions is corrupting the views on the new AoS. It is impossible for anyone to say for sur eif 1.0 will be worth buying, WAIT till we see what exactly is in it.
LASTofS wrote:In its current state, no it is not worth buying. By current state I'm assuming you mean 0.75. USABxBOOYO is one of the guys that hate the network lag, but I'm putting my trust in the devs that it'll get fixed eventually. If you haven't noticed already, this game is in its beta state. That means it wouldn't have been released, but bcoolface has chosen to so you can suggest new content, have fun shaping the game you want to play.
Frosty, I'm not sure why you would think the Ace of Spades OpenGL client being paid for is a joke. Have you seen the vast improvements between the VOXLAP branch and the OGL branch? Mat^2 has added many new features to the game, and once you get your hands on the client I'm sure you'd appreciate some (if not all) of the implementations.
Nothing I disagree with there.

You'll know when the game is finished, because game developers will drop it, or they'll make it open source. If you've kept up with bcoolface's Twitter, he is working on the new weapon accuracy algorithms. Broken weapons? Whatever, it's in beta so they should be fixed eventually. Think of it like this: we are all beta testers and only helping the game get better. The players are angry because new updates take so long to come out (that includes me, by the way). I seriously hope for quicker updates (even if they don't have many new features) because people get pissed when new stuff comes out, but it's not what they expected.
THIS para deserves a response. "1.0 version does not necessarily mean it will be the finished" buying 1.0...you will NOT be buying a finished game, you will be buying the version 1.0...development there will not cease.
