Look, I know it's the internet, people overreact or see hackers where there are none... But these cases were clear. You don't get 200 headshots in a row with not a single shot missed. I watch suspected aimbotters on my servers all the time and there are some awesome players out there who are simply unreal - but even they miss once in a while.
The admins knew these people, and between all the "lolhax" banter exchanged, it was clear that there was no investigation going on - They simply canceled the votekicks and let the aimbotter have his fun. And yes there was a votekick reason - not that it matters because I could of course be making these things up. I have no agenda against GH. These were my experiences, nothing more, nothing less. Two friends of mine had similar experiences, so after a few of these incidences we decided to do the sensible thing: steer clear of the goonhaven servers.

There's plenty of excellent servers out there. Good luck to GH with whatever they plan to do in the future, but their departure will hardly be the end of AoS.

If they were in trial for National Guard, they wouldn't have had access to the BanHammer, and would only be able to report to higher admins, if that's how the National Guard system works.

I think they cancelled the votekick so that the person could get a proper ban by another admin.

If you are so desperate to believe that this means that deep down in his heart he's concerned about the aimbotter and looking to investigate him, go ahead.

To me it means that the very thing GH complains about on their forums is exactly what they've been practicing on their own servers, multiple times. That's what I believe, because I witnessed it.

For me it's not the pure K/D ratio. If you see a guy spend all his magazines with each round being a headshot, and this goes on and on without him ever missing once, then it's pretty much clear. Especially when he/she shoots you on the water from across the map, through the fog.

I've been called a cheater for my SMG shooting myself. Some folks claimed I have a no-recoil hack, when all I do is manage my recoil. But I miss and I get killed. It happens.

But this is about equal treatment of players, and that's why the original post is, IMHO, the pot calling the kettle black.

It isn't white-knighting, he is describing the general admin etiquette for the GH servers. First of all, I'd like to reinforce the fact that we hand out permanent ban for aimbotters. It's easy to catch the obvious killfeed spamming ESP-ing aimbotters, but hard to catch the smarter hackers. The reason admins cancel the votekick is because 1) the votekick did not contain a reason or 2) we cancelled it to have our undercover admins check him out.

How do you know he never missed a shot? And I hope you're exaggerating about the 200 K/D ratio because nobody with that high of a ratio got by.

Also, you have no idea how many votekicks we get on the server. Even people that play legit get vk'd for so called "aimbotting" when they haven't logged in with trusted.

GH has less hackers than any other server. Whenever I'm on I never find hackers. Only people who are good at this. Also, why do you guys get kicked for hacking so much? I've only been kicked once for hacking. And I play on GH everyday, or I did... (For hours too) Either that or people avoid me. :c

My only reply to you is this: You have the server logs and you know full well what's was going on. If not, I gave you the words to grep for.
How did I know? Listening to the shots go off one after another and watching the killfeed scroll by isn't rocket science. Watching people *behind me* getting shot from beyond the fog ahead of me isn't rocket science.

Altough I run several AOS servers, I have no stake in this at all - I'm all for more servers, goonhaven or otherwise.

But hey, we all know how this is gonna play out, don't we? This never happened, I'm mistaken, I'm just jealous of really good players, impossible to prove now etc. - might as well close this right here and there, shall we? After all, you're not into the whole Ace of Spades thing anymore, right?
