Earlier this week I was playing on Sham's Little Pony with Ballast, Poptart and a couple other people I know. The map was Darkfort if I remember correctly. I was doing reasonably well and wasn't lagging terribly, until a guy named Potato joined. Almost immediately he began to wreck our team, advancing through the water and capping intels. He didn't bob around like most good players do; he just made headshots. He'd hit me when I was falling, as soon as I'd spawn, even when I was waiting for him to break the fogline. Many people tried to votekick him for hacking, but homps watched him for a little and said he checked out. I will be the first to admit I thought--if only for the sake of my ego--that he was cheating. I was genuinely at a loss, and asked him how long he'd been playing. 3 days. This guy had been playing for 3 days, and was already one of the best shots I've seen in AoS.
I asked for the size of his monitor, and he said 30 inches diagonally, corner to corner.
This raises a couple of depressing questions. How much is the 'skill' of a player dependant upon the computer they're using? How much of it is simply monitor size an processing speed? My home monitor is 19 inches corner to corner. What's yours?
