Hey guys,
ever thought of starting a clan, well heres some tips to get you started.

1)Have a catchy and popular name.

Its important to have a cool name for your clan, some examples of clans with good names are [USAB] (United States AirBourne) or {AGAN} (As Good As Ninjaz). Be careful choosing a name, dont rip it off something else like {BF3}, I think we know what that stands for.....

2)Have a friendship with your members.

Having a good friendship with your fellow clan members is important. They like to spread the word about your clan and if you want to advance another square and get members you'll need that. It's also another way to learn about players personalitys and make friends.

3)Dont go recruiting people in-game.

The problem with recruiting players In-game is they aren't as reliable, as they dont have to post an application form, and are usually not active on the forums. Its a good idea to do it before having a subsection, but it is rarely effective once you have a subsection. Unless a player can fire a hole round of SMG shots getting headshots each bullet, I wouldnt go near recruiting in-game.

4)Dont accept clan hoppers.

Clan hoppers are players who hop from one clan to another-leaving and joining suddenly. It is important that you check each players record before accepting them.

5)Dont accept cheaters/griefers.

We all know why, and that brings us to...

6)Dont cheat.

This is the worst scenario, as once your members find out, in a day or two you wont have any members, with only yourself to blame.

The thing about three is, it doesn't always apply. I found a member on aloha pinpoint. He was a skilled player. I played with him for a week or two, then invited him. Make friends with people ingame, then invite them. They will show greater loyalty If you are friends.

Also, sometimes your name can put certain kinds of people off, and invite people you don't want. Like "the ultimate pro master dudes" as far as I know, there aren't any clans called that, but if they were, they would probably attract crazy immature little kids. Your name can decide whether you get mature, sensible players or no good immature kids.

theres a clan called [AOD] (Army of thieves) but theyre not on the forums.

I have to agree with Varun, I don't see why one can't recruit someone from in-game. I've made plenty of friends in-game, and a few RoT members have been recruited in-game.

Number 2 is definitely important and often overlooked, most clans fail because of a lack of friendship and communication among the clansmen.

I still wonder what the big fuss over clan-hoppers is. Some clans aren't right for some people, and if someone leaves a clan, there shouldn't be that big of a stink over it. Something like 5 clans a week, then yeah, but leaving a clan shouldn't make you untouchable or anything.

And I've always wondered why so many clans wind up cheating, especially the leaders themselves in some cases. It's funny, lol.

To add with what the fellas above said about recruiting from ingame, I also don't see a problem without. Heh, at first I only made a forums account to join Enclave when Kodiak recruited me from a while back, from the Enclave server.

His isn't definite or complete, none of them are. Don't see why there should only be one, everyone has their own unique advice to pass on.

Well he hasn't added anything new except to not recruit in-game, which some really great members of LDR have been, so I would change it to say not to recruit in game people if they won't make forum accounts to apply.
