Ace of Spades kitchen time. (Post your cooking recipes!)

Cookin' with Doc.

Step one 1:

Grab all the ingredients
  • Soy sauce. - Little fat, not too high in sodium, has some brotein too. It will give the whole thing a somewhat salty ish taste, don't use it if you don't want it to taste salty but trust me it tastes great with the chicken breast.
  • Chicken breast (let it unfreeze for a little while) - Plenty of brotein and little to none fats.
  • Dried oregano. (It will give the whole meal a fresh scent) - No idea about nutritional facts.
  • Garlic powder. (Not bitter at all, somewhat salty, tastes generally good) - No idea about nutritional facts.
  • Your greens. (I used the following: broccoli, jicama, red pepper, mushrooms, soybeans) - Good source of carbs and the whole meal will taste very fresh, it even reminded me of oriental food.

tl;dr nutritional facts, little fat, plenty of good ol' carbs from vegetables and whatnot, plenty of great brotein. (protein)

How it should look like.

Step 2:

Grab a decently sized pan with a cover available in hand and oil it up, you could also spray it with whatever to avoid the stickyness. By now start the heat at low, always keep it at low.

How it should look like.

Step 3:

Grab the chicken breast and put it in the previously heated pan with oil, add your ingredients.

-First use the soy sauce and bath the whole thing with it, it will end up drying in the end, or rather vaporizing.
-Second apply the dried oregano on the chicken.
-Third and last, add some of the garlic powder on the chicken breast.

How it should look like (I suck at adding garlic powder, it should be even on the entire breast, add as much as you want)

Step 4:

Cover the thing up and let it cook for about 3 minutes, note that if you don't cover it the juices will end up drying, it will also cook way slower since the steam will do most of the cooking. (Not really but you get the idea)

How it should look like after 3 minutes.
Image

Step 5:

Now that the 3 minutes have passed take the cover off and flip the mofoker around. (I used two forks because I always end up splashing the liquids on the pan, obviously burning me)

You should grab a knife as we are going to slice the thing in another 3 minutes.

How it should look like.

And more covering!

Wait 3 minutes again.

Step 6:

Now that you've waited another 3 minutes, slice the chicken and when you are done add the vegetables so they can soften up and grab the flavors with the steam, at least that is what I did since my vegetables were frozen. I recommend doing this anyway.

How it should look like.
Image

Mix everything up and cover it again, as you can see the middle is still somewhat raw. Again, cover it and let the steam do its magic, in this stage the vegetables will grab some flavor too, as I've previously said.

Wait 3 minutes again.

Serve it and you are done!

End result:

I would rate the ending taste as at least 9/10, would eat again. It should take you around 10 minutes to cook it, the nutrition in this meal is great, plenty of protein, good carbs and everything. Healthy meal, easy & quick to cook and the taste in general is great.

The best part of this meal in my opinion is that I cooked it in 15 minutes tops, and was pretty easy overall, with a great result.

NOTE: If you did everything correctly you should end up with plenty of juice, don't use all of it since the taste of it will have a little bit of a "kick" in it, oh well, taste it and add it if you want!

P.S, excuse the blurry pictures, my phone sucks.

Post whatever recipe you've cooked, the thread is for cooking in general, it doesn't matter if it is creative or not. At least if you put some effort into it, it should count. :P

You should try it yourself, just get a timer to make sure you don't end up burning your house. I am just kidding, it was ridiculously easy to cook this thing up, in theory you simply put everything on the chicken and wait 3 minutes to flip it and 3 minutes after you slice it up and it is done.

At least, we use electric stoves here :D so no worries about burning the house with gas stoves. (Shipped from Japan!)
But i still need to ask my grandma about amount of nutrions on this one.

Boiling water is already a very tedious task for me :/
To a Physicist, white and black is the presence and absence of color.
To a Fine Artist, white and black are just shades and tints of color.
To a Painter, any paint that you could get into a can is a color.
THIS color, on the other hand, is #b4d455.

^LOL 'Trooper

Also, that looks very delicious, if I do say so myself. I like to cook, and cook quite well, modesty aside, and I have got to say that that looks scrumptious. I have to try and make that. Thanx for the recipe.
