For all things AoS!

Some shotguns have really long range. Also, I have been killed, in one shot, at full health, by a shotgun.

That was in 0.70 when shotguns didn't spread. They were like a rifle but with shotgun damage at long distance, highly inaccurate. The model of shotgun in AoS is 25-75 meters, one of them being buckshot and the other slug (type of ammo).

No I mean, like today. I was mightily pissed because I had just killed 5 counter snipers who tried to swarm kill me, then I get taken down at fog range by a shotgun. Survive 5 counter snipers with full health, get killed by a shotgun at fog distance. Does that seem legit to you?

As i said, that was in 0.70. The update in 0.75 fixed this because the shotgun did not spread in the previous update, making it able to kill someone a fog distance.

Shotgun spread is randomized. Thats how I died. Still don't know how that works though.

I don't believe that's possible to die in fog distance with a shotgun. Are you sure it was a shotgun?

Yeah, saw the spray as I died. And he kept firing after me. However, there is always margin for error. But there have been similar reports around before, so I doubt I was mistaken.

Well, I've experienced that before 0.75, but not recently.

Using the Shotgun Properly

Postby Benton » Wed Jun 06, 2012 6:52 am

There has been a lot of complaining about the shotgun at .75.

It should be used just for close quarters. 30 blocks or less and it is deadly.

However, it is possible, with a few shots, to get a headshot at almost fog range. You need to crouch, scope in, and stop moving. It seems to be more accurate doing that. No running scoped-out and trying to be accurate. I beat a rifle at 100 blocks away doing this.

With luck, nonetheless. Not all the time could someone do that. No matter how crouched in I am, a shot could still completely miss 10 blocks away.

THIS color, on the other hand, is #b4d455.

That proves the unpredictability of the shotgun. Does it make sense to you to be able to out shoot a rifleman at fog range?
