You've already taken the beans from the camp.
You walk back to the ditch, and after some thinking you've decided to take the sewers.
With your flaming stick torch in hand, you crawl through the pipe and descend downwards into the sewer system.
At the bottom the pipe splits into 3 directions. You know the town is west however, so that's the way you go.

Throughout your walk you can't help but hear what sounds like scuttling around, but you dismiss the sound as a pack of harmless rats.

You enter a circular room filled with trash. In the middle of it is a trash can with the remnants of a fire in it.
Moonlight streams into the room from a grate above the can. You can see the faint outline of trees through it.
It's obvious that somebody has been here recently.

From the grate above, you see a tree-man peering at you through the grate.
He continues to stare at you.
