A quick question for any American football players on here.

Postby Joeyray » Thu Feb 16, 2012 2:59 am

Hey fellas,
I'm just wondering as a Scot who is more a front row rugby player is there any positions suited to one who is more squater and heavier set than your average football player? I've been asked to try it out but most of the boys who play it seem to be taller and more athletically built, not like my more gorilla like build. Or does size not really matter?
I'm asking because in rugby size generally dictates where you can play on the pitch.
Thanks guys.

Anywhere on the offensive-line, or nose-tackle

Offensive/defensive line would suit you great. If you have any sort of speed/agility, I suggest defensive end.

Looks like you're stayin, low, movin' your feet, keeping your body square and opening a can of whoop-ass on anyone that decides they want to come to your side then. Congrats! :D

Well fella's I gave it a try, got put on the defensive line, and for the night it was fun. For once I was one of the bigger heavier set blokes in the team, though I never fully got a hang of the rules it was a good experience but I think I'll stick to rugby. Thanks to Talent and Fett316 for your helpful words!
