Since when did Fraps start making it's videos smaller

Postby demo123 » Wed Aug 01, 2012 11:04 am

So I decided to make a small AoS video. I decide to use Fraps. I thought that it was a dumb idea, but I was wrong.

After this you think that the video is like 14 gigs big.

Woah, 1 gig is still a bit though.
Are gameplay videos always so big?

Fraps raw game footage(newly filmed) are really, really huge. I used Fraps before, trust me.

Sane happened to me... When the Komrades vs USAB match happened, I left Fraps recording it from a good angle while I was having dinner.
The video was like more than 20% of the computer's overall memory or something (???).
That's the reason why I don't record very often. It also lags my computer very much.

I found out that you can make the video size smaller if you use Windows Movie Maker.

What I meant was that when you finish recording with FRAPS, put that video into WMM. Then into WMM's timeline and save to my movie and the video's size will be smaller. Delete the raw footage from the Movies folder in the Fraps directory and there you go. Like you didn't loose any free space.
That way I converted a 3 gig video into a 100 mb video.

That's what I always tend to do. Except I use sony vegas instead of WMM.

How in the world do you people store that much memory?

I still have 140 GB free. Not sure how can you not have 3 GB free, unless you've been downloading and installing every single thing on the internet you could get your hands on over 10 years.
