Where Does a Rifle Bullet Hit?

Postby SoapToDaChoppa » Sun Jul 22, 2012 2:40 am

Hey all,

I've got a really odd question for you guys today, and I hope you can just answer it quickly and get it over with. So I've been trying to figure out which sights for my Rifle are the best by trying to place the sight as close to the center of the screen as possible, but even when i do it on (300,400)-(301,401) coordinates, it STILL seems off! >:( It kinda goes a little to the left or something, leaving me to go "WTF??? That's not the center!" everytime! XP

If possible, could somebody tell me EXACTLY which pixel a bullet will travel to on a Rifle sight?

It's the recoil. Try playing around on a server, make targets and see whats wrong.

The ironscope pictures have a really weird glitch, where if you were to make a line, like, (300,400), and (300,4001), it would add a pixel above it. I would use Enari's scope to find the absolute accurate spot.

Man Soap, you've been gone for too long. There isn't exactly an exact center anymore, cause the rifle has some spread. Though I've found that the best spot to but the dot is at 399, 300. You'll get a good amount of headshots with that :P

OK, The other ones are talking about the scope, But if you been messing around with tracers it could have gone off center, just cause the tracer is off there is an invisible bullet flying, so you might get a kill.
but it might be the sights to, in gimp 800x600 (pix) is the iron sights you would think 400x300 is center, well it is but its the weird number that there is no Real Pixel center, you can only reach it via brush, so either use the inaccurate brush, to get it in 400x300 pixels or another way to do it, download a 2 pixel scope, and make your own sight (with no dot) open as layers and use the 2 pixel scope since they are both 800x600 the 2 pixel scope will somewhat align to the center of the layer!
"Tip"
The 2 pixel scope is shaped this way -- that is how the pixels are aligned (--) so you want to aim between the 2 pixels (-o-)
where that o is. hope this fix's your problems.

I've heard that you haven't been here in a long time and I shall inform you of one small thing:

The rifle is no longer 100% accurate, it now spreads.

This means in all your shots there is a small chance of it missing, traditionally I put two dots in a 800 length x 600 height grid, and simply put two dots at (300,400) and (300,401). This seems to be 100% accurate in the .76 version, but spread will always occur in the current version.

Hope this helps at least a little bit.

All shall obey.

1) I've actually been here for quite a while, I just returned from a long school year. :P I've been around since about a year and half ago.

2) I KNEW IT!!! -______________-' I was telling a ton of other people the exact same thing, but they were all like "no the accuracy got buffed so now it's back to always being perfectly on target," and I decided just to believe them on it. But I KNEW something must have been wrong because I was always missing when I was ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that I was on target! Thanks for reassuring me and that I was right! ;) I'll go test out that 2-dot sight you guys have been telling me all about now.

Yeah, I've had somewhat of the same problem, best of luck making you scope though ;)
