Why Gen maps are great.

Because when you first log in to any other map, you immediately know where the enemy is going to be shooting you from. When you first log into a Gen map, you start making your way across unfamiliar hills. You know that in any given second you could be shot at from any direction. It's those instant life-or-death situations that really test your reflexes.

totally agree, i also love the vast complex terrain and dotted ruins that cover the map after 10 minutes of play. Custem maps are good for tower of babel and TDM, but CTF on a custom map is the best!

But on other maps Its a hole different story :/

Those are nice, but the rivers make them lose IMO. They are just too much of a break. in movement, and any bridges across them get griefed in seconds.

which maps are you talking about? Usually rivers on gens are short enough that you can bridge across them without any interference as long as you aren't building them in the enemy's face.... and there's still drag 'n build.

Ehhh, not all custom maps are horrible. Most are, but some can be highly enjoyable.

But, yeah, gen is the best map in AoS.

Trees would be nice, but I also like being able to see everything when I'm walking around.

Gen maps need to repopulate again, so far they give me the best experience in-game for a some reason.

I can find at least four U.S. servers hosting pinpoint, but not even one hosting gen. What's wrong with this picture?
