Wow. People seem a tad bit too butthurt about server packs, but then they really can't see the possibilities.

Think about it. By enabling server packs, no one could cheat on clan matches. This could also enable some themed servers (WWII, Modern Combat, Space Wars). It's really what the server owner makes of it.

If you don't want modified servers, then go ahead and make your own server.
To a Physicist, white and black is the presence and absence of color.
To a Fine Artist, white and black are just shades and tints of color.
To a Painter, any paint that you could get into a can is a color.
THIS color, on the other hand, is #b4d455.

I don't ever use skins, I'd definitely want an opt-out option that I could toggle somewhere.

"Choose another server or make your own" is not the ideal solution.

You know, if AoS didn't have modding abilities in the first place, no one would be complaining about the server packs. In fact they would be welcoming them.

I CAN'T FREAKIN WAIT FOR THEM.

As long as I have the option to turn them off. Whilst Simox's mods are amazing, I have used them all and find them boring.

EDIT:
@everyone having graphics card issues:

OPENGL IS ENABLED ON EVERY SINGLE GRAPHICS CARD AROUND.

Though it may be openGL 1.0 or 2.0. It will still have openGL on it. I have an openGL 2.0 compliant card in my computer. But it doesn't support GLSL (GL shaders)

I just want a better sound engine so the damn game doesn't keep cutting out all the sounds I spend hours editing because its "too high-def" even without being in stereo!

This will be fixed in the next release. They are switching to openAL for sounds instead of using Kens sound engine. A very good move IMO.

I love (hate) seeing everyone freaking out about features they don't even fully understand yet. It reminds me of wave spawning and the people going "OMG, IT'S GOING TO BE THE WORST THING EVER"! Well guess what, it's toggle-able, just like MOST of the settings in AoS. I have absolutely 0 verification of this, but I'd be extremely surprised if the powers that be FORCED ALL PLAYERS to use server side models.

We have an active and vibrant modding community and the people making the game understand that. Calm down people. :)

Explain that in the first place for the Christ˙s sake. If you did i wouldnt get a fricking warning.

Server side mods are great, I'm just afraid that I'll be unable to find any servers using the default models. Hopefully this will be client-side toggleable.
