To Stack and Thal,

Please stop being bitches and affecting the ~96 people who are on the Goon Haven Server's at all time and kiss and make up...

It's really not my decision. The server belongs to Thal and it's his choice as to what he wants to do with them. However immature and inconcrete his reasons might be, that's just the way it is.

I have nothing to really reconcile with Thal as I have nothing against him. Albeit he seems to have quite a bit to say about the community and staff (myself in particular). He's free to have his own opinion. But that's no excuse to throw around the n-word and lash out every time he doesn't get the last word.

The sad part is, as you've pointed out, the only ones affected by this incident are the end users. This "protest" does nothing to the staff, nor the game as a whole. The users shouldn't be caught in the middle of some petty internet drama.

Hopefully it'll blow over. If it turns out that the server(s) will remain down, Enari is hosting a Goon Haven server for the time being. We'll just have to wait and see.

The n-word was too far but I do believe that you should try to approach Thal and take what he said to heart, he ran excellent servers which were great for many new players to AoS and were regarded as being in the top group of servers along with Minit and Aloha. It would benefit the community greatly if these servers were to come back. Though I think Thal needs to step back and realise that he was being a little power hungry himself.

Here's what I have to say on the matter.

First off, what Stack did was completely unnecessary and immature. There was absolutely no reason to mute Thal, let alone ban the guy. You can't just use your "badmin" powers to get rid of people that don't agree with you.

Now, on to Thal. What Thal did was also completely unnecessary. His reasoning is "since and entire HANDFUL of people are being dicks to me, I'm gonna lash out at the community." You ruined a perfectly good community for no reason what so ever. I understand that you don't want to help pay for something that a few dicks are running, but shutting down the server isn't going to create a message to ben that "YOU SHOULD GET NEW ADMINS." If you really want that to happen, how about you go give your mind to Ben IN-PERSON. Can't do that? Too bad.

So, all you two have done is win the hatred of half of the GH and AoS community. Neither of you deserve that at all. Instead of yelling at each other like a group of 8-year-olds, can you just settle this without getting the entire community involved? We really couldn't care less about it, but you're making us. Both of you are in the wrong here.

But I do have to give props to Thal for having to balls to give a little rebel-yell.

The mute was justified in the manner that Thal wouldn't stop pushing the subject, which had been clearly discussed and attempted to be dropped several times. It was something over his head that involved private manners, but he pressured on. I muted him (default is 4 hours). The mute would've been lifted minutes later, as it was just a way for him to calm down. Coincidentally, the opposite happened and he decided to PM hateful remarks (within 5 second of the muting). THIS is what resulted in the ban.

It wasn't a matter of agreement/disagreement. It was a matter of letting something go when it was apparent he didn't know what was being discussed.

I've read both the GH forums, this thread and logs posted and it looks to me as if while Stack's muting may have been premature, Thal's response was way over the top and not something a respectable member of the community should do. The language used in reply to Stack, as well as pulling the server which many people play is just a selfish and immature thing to do. It harms nobody but the players, and lowers himself to nothing better than he 'thinks' Stack is. The better course of action would have been to stay, attempting to dispute the matter in a mature manner at a later time.

Well, as I don't use the GH servers it won't have any effect on me. Back to Sham's.

Regardless of the reasons or drama involved if someone who is hosting or renting a server decides they no longer wish to host or rent said server that's their right. If the GH community is so tight then all they need is another member or members to host or rent another server then they can run it however they want, drama free if they so desire.

I stopped reading this shit around the second page. The worst part of every multiplayer game is the community, but without them the game will go nowhere. If AoS added bots, we could play alone and got rid of the multiplayer all togeather.

This makes me want to host my own server to help fill GH 1 spot. I loved that server, and the map.

I don't know what happened, i'm only assuming. But what i've read and heard, the dude has serious attitude problems. "If i can't have it my way, no one will have it!!"

All i have to say is: Nothing of value was lost. GH servers were the ones to play when all the good ones were full or down. The average player of GH is a 10 year old CoD kid running around spraying and praying, and calling everyone capable of headshotting people a hacker. New servers will be hosted, this changed absolutely nothing.
