Automatic poll created for suggestions..

We did this in the dystopia forums and it worked well.
Basically you could vote +2, +1 or -1 to a suggestion.

If a suggestion got enough votes, the devs could either confirm it as in the works, confirm that it was under consideration, or flat out vito the idea, usually due to engine limitations or the idea being outside the scope of the original game design.

If it didn't get any votes, or was voted down to a certain point, it would be locked and added to the "do not suggest" list.

Not saying all of this is explicitly necessary, just would be nice to have a clear scale for judging how popular, or unpopular a suggestion is.

Devs probably judge a suggestion on the suggestion itself not on how many + it has.

Devs have the final say, but trust me when I say that they are almost always interested in what the community wants. Any good dev team will pay attention to their suggestion forums.. if they don't then they are making the game for themselves, not for their community.

I've been a dev for a few mods in my day, I've seen my share of good and bad suggestions, it's a lot easier to take the good ones seriously, when you can see how popular they are, compared to the bad ones. :)

Even if you say that, I can see that you are adding a suggestion that you want. You are not a dev here, so it is plausible that the devs may work differently to you.

Besides that, I am sure that if the devs want polls for suggestions then they will add it regardless of what you and I say.

In my opinion, most suggestions I've ever seen on these forums have been absolutely terrible, yet for some reason lots of people like them.

It's the same reason MC sucks now, Notch listened to the wrong people and if Ben does the same, this game will die too.

YMMV, personally I think it is a bit complex now, and I don't much like the idea of winning the game.

Agreed, and yeah it's true that Minecraft got a bit bloated..
As for poll creation. When I posted this, I was under the impression that polls were available which they apparently are not.
Therefore, I would like to amend this suggestion to include polls at all. They are great for suggestion threads, but there are plenty of other reasons that they would be useful here. Some fun, some for organizing clan stuff (map to play etc) and more.

Give us poll creation ability please! :)

It really did help us to see which suggestions were most popular in my Dystopia days.. it's not like the devs *have* to add something, just because it's popular.
