How about a combination of both systems? "Thanks" and "Rep".
- Use "thanks" to enable people to give rep after x many of thank you's given to them. (Hopefully reducing the number of spammers) - Countered by the Search function for the Mods who can delete the post to erease the abuser, not to mention a "Worthless" button to derate the post manually.
How about we implement it first, see whos actually trying to use it correctly, then move to have it be regulated by those same people who are using it correctly.
In Theory, if Admins could set rep on the forums (their own too), they would have more pull in-game. On the other hand this is starting to tie into more advanced account systems which might be beyond this game entirely.
A nice pipe dream no?
